I am excited to be returning as the Grade 5 teacher this year at NPCS. I grew up in Neerlandia and attended NPCS from Kindergarten to Grade 10. After I completed high school I went off to play baseball and pursue a teaching career in lovely Nanaimo, BC. My wife, Carmen, and I have very fond memories of our years on Vancouver Island but have always known we wanted to settle down right here in Neerlandia. After graduating from Vancouver Island University with a Bachelor of Education and Physical Education Diploma we moved back to our home province of Alberta. I have taught Gr. 5 at NPCS now for a few years and love it! I did spend 7 years teaching at Barrhead Elementary School in a variety of roles and grade levels, including being the Physical Education Specialist previously. My passion for Education is in building relationships with the students, parents, teachers, and community. I look forward to continuing some of the programs I ran in Barrhead at Neerlandia – running teams, etc.
We now have 3 children of our own and my wife and I feel we have been guided and inspired in our faith by our parents, teachers, pastors, and many others within the community over the years. I am so excited to continue the culture of a caring, safe, athletic, and most importantly Christian education the students receive here at NPCS.
