God opened the doors for me to be a part of the Neerlandia teaching community in 2011, after graduating from King’s University. I’ve enjoyed co-teaching Grade 2 alongside Lorna Strydhorst since that time. This past year I took a maternity leave to have a baby boy with my husband, Aaron. It has been my joy and delight to become a Mom and I am so grateful to be able to balance my time between my wonderful family and the adventures of my classroom.
Being back in the class this year, I’ve also found myself grateful to have a role in students’ lives that allows me to guide them into discovery and to a deeper understanding of the curriculum. It is my passion to foster an awareness of God’s presence and an awe for all He has created for us. The Storyline I’ve chosen to highlight with students is Matthew 22:37-39. “Love the Lord your God with all your, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest command. The second is like it: Love your neighbour as yourself.”
